Poolside has released Laguna S 2.1, a 118B parameter Mixture-of-Experts coding model with 8B activated parameters per token and a 1M token context window. Built in under nine weeks, it scores 70.2% on Terminal-Bench 2.1 and 78.5% on SWE-Bench Multilingual, outperforming models many times its size. The model supports thinking and no-thinking modes, with thinking lifting its DeepSWE score from 16.5% to 40.4%.
