Granola, the AI meeting notetaker app valued at $1.5 billion, has launched a dictation feature for Mac, directly competing with Wispr, a $2 billion dictation-focused startup that recently added its own meeting notetaker. Granola's tool activates via the "Fn" key, cleans up spoken text, and works across all apps for notes, emails, and prompts. iOS and Windows support is coming soon. The moves reflect a broader trend, with Fireflies, Speechify, and Monologue also converging into multifeature voice AI apps.

OpenAI has updated its Model Spec, reorganizing behavioral guidance around five core values: faithfulness to human intent, harm minimization, honesty and transparency, human agency, and care. The update aims to help models exercise good judgment in situations not explicitly covered by instructions, as AI systems take increasingly consequential actions. New sections address context, oversight, and agency, while detailed style guidance has been retired. The spec also shifts from calling models "the assistant" to "GPT" to reflect broader deployment settings.
