OpenScreen is a free, MIT-licensed screen recorder and video editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that turns raw captures into polished demo videos. It offers automatic zooms, styled backgrounds, cursor customization, and a timeline-based editor with transcript-driven cuts. Transcription is handled locally via whisper.cpp, so video and audio never leave the user's machine. An optional AI editing agent can suggest and apply timeline edits using a user-supplied API key. The tool exports to MP4 or GIF with no watermark and no account required.
